About Benha University

In the city of Benha, the administrative center of the Al Qalyubiyah Governorate, there is a government-run institution called Benha University.

On November 25, 1976, a decree established it as a branch of Zagazig University in Benha, with the colleges of business, education, Moshtohor agriculture, Shobra engineering, and medicine.

The Benha Faculty of Arts, Moshtohor Faculty of Science, and Benha Faculty of Veterinary Medicine were established in 1981–1982. On August 1, 2005, it separated from Zagazig University to become an autonomous university. Professor Hosam-ed-din Mohammed Al-Attar, then Professor Mohamed Safwat Zahran, and currently Professor Ali Shams Aldeen served as the university’s past president.
