About Federal University Dutsin-Ma

The Federal University Dutsin-ma is situated in the Dutsin-ma Local government Area of Katsina State, which is situated in the North-Western region of Nigeria, bordering the Niger Republic, Kaduna, Kano, and the Jigawa States.

The founding of the Federal University Dutsin-ma along with eight other Federal Universities is in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s purpose to run a technology-driven economy to accomplish the vision of 20:2020, to further improve the nation’s awareness base, and expand access to education, which is a crucial factor in the establishment of institutions of learning in Nigeria.

The general goal of the establishment was to tackle the challenges of insufficient space for qualified university applicants. Thus the nine new Federal Universities, which were recognized in States where none were, are positioned to strike a balance between access, equity, and quality, thus generating an avenue for indigenous gratitude for educational values.

On 7th February 2011, in his volume as Visitor to Federal Universities, the President and Commander in Chief, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, selected Prof. James O.I. Ayatse and Mal. Muhammad Yusuf Abubakar as Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, correspondingly.

These appointments were connected by the Honourable Minister of Education on Wednesday, 9th February 2011, and took effect from 16th February 2011. The Vice-Chancellor and Registrar formally assumed office on 10th March 2011, the day they were formally offered to the Government and people of Katsina State by the Honourable Minister of Education. The Vice-Chancellor then employed Mr. Sadiq Momoh Jimoh and Mallam Misbahu Naiya as the Deputy Bursar, and Deputy Librarian, individually.

The Federal University Dutsin-ma whose core objective is to inspire the advancement of learning and to hold out to all persons without distinction of race, creed, sex, or political conviction the opportunity of obtaining higher and liberal education admitted her pioneer students of 219 spread across three faculties, namely: Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Arts and Management Studies, and Faculty of Science and Science Education. Currently, there are 1754 students consisting of 1255 males and 499 females registered in the 21 Departments of the three Faculties.

Answer: Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan GCFR, GCON (born 20 November 1957) is a Nigerian politician who aided as the President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015. He received a bachelor’s degree in zoology (second-class honors), a master’s degree in hydrobiology and fisheries biology; and a doctorate in zoology from the University of Port Harcourt. Answer: General Admission Necessities

Gaining admission into an Undergraduate Program in FUDMA is essentially under 2 entrance methods which are the UTME entry and the Direct Entry.

FUDMA admission necessities through UTME 

Applicants must have reached the age of 16.

Applicants must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result (s). This must contain English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects connected to their course of study. For example, an Applicant that wants to study law must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and Literature in English.

Applicants must score at least 160 in the JAMB UTME examination

Applicants must take the Federal University Dutsin-Ma post-UTME screening examination and must achieve very well in the examination (Depending on the course of study)

Not more than ONE sitting result is allowed for admission into the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA)

Candidates must choose the correct subject combination for their courses.

Lastly, applicants must meet the required cutoff marks for their courses to advance admission into the university.

FUDMA admission requirements through Direct Entry 

Applicants must own at least five (5) Credits in their O’level result. This must contain English Language and Mathematics. However, two sitting result is not allowed.

Applicants must have also reached the age of 16.

Applicants are anticipated to get a JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB to apply.

Applicants should have any of the following credentials: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN.
