About MountCrest University College

MountCrest University College (MCU) was founded in August 2008 by Mr. Kwaku Ansa-Asare and Mrs. Helena Ansa-Asare as a private institution of higher learning in Ghana. The National Accreditation Board gave MCU accreditation in 2010 so that it could offer graduate- and undergraduate-level programs in law, publishing, public health, and health services management.

Since welcoming students on November 1st, 2011, MCU has developed into a top-tier private university college in Ghana and is home to the nation’s top private law faculty. It already offers courses in social work and religion, and it plans to open the country’s first medical school soon. The Readwide Building at 12 Ablade Road houses the administrative offices for MCU’s city campus, which is situated on Ablade Road in Kanda, Accra. The main campus is located in Ghana’s Eastern Region at Ayebuso, Larteh-Akuapem. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), located in Kumasi, is a partner institution of MCU.

The admission requirements for Mountcrest University College for 2023–2024 are listed below. Before applying, applicants must carefully read the instructions.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

General Entry Requirements

Any program requires senior high school graduates to meet the following requirements to be admitted: 

They must have at least credits (A1-C6 in WASSCE and A-D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science (for applicants who want to study science), or Social Studies (for applicants who don’t), and three elective subjects in General Arts/Business/Science/Vocational, with a total aggregate not exceeding 30. Moreover, candidates for the sciences need to have at least a C6 in their social studies/life skills WASSCE/D in their SSSCE, while candidates for non-scientific professions need to have at least a C6 in their integrated science/core science WASSCE/D in their SSSCE.

Admission Requirements:

WASSCE /SSSCE /TVET Qualification Applicants

The following criteria must be met to be admitted to the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) program:

  • WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1-C6) in five (5) topics, including two (2) elective subjects that are appropriate to the program of choice and three (3) core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics.
  • SSSCE Holders: Credits (A-D) in five (5) topics, including two (2) elective subjects that are appropriate to the program of choice and three (3) core subjects, including English language and core mathematics.
  • TVET HOLDERS: Candidates must have credits in five (5) topics, including two (2) elective subjects that are appropriate to their chosen program and three (3) core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
