About Murang’a University of Technology
Murang’a University of Technology (MUT), which was upgraded from Murang’a Institution of Technology, is the new name for Murang’a University College (MRUC), a former constituent institution of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). (MCT). 85 miles northeast of Nairobi, 70 km southeast of Nyeri, and 50 km southwest of Embu are where the university is situated, 1.5 km from Murang’a town in Muranga County.
Master’s, degree, diploma, certificate, and craft programs are available at MUT in the fields of engineering, computing, business, human resource management, hotel management, tourism management, and pure and applied sciences. As a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Murang’a University of Technology was formerly known as Murang’a University College (MRUC), which was founded in September 2011 by Murang’a University College order legal notice No. 129 of September 2011. Murang’a College of Technology was replaced by MRUC. The Universities Act 2012, CAP 210 B of the Kenyan laws, governs how the university college is currently run. The inauguration of the first Murang’a University Council took place in October 2013.
