About University College of Management Studies

In Ghana’s Accra and Kumasi, there is a private university college called the University College of Management Studies. The school is associated with the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi Campus, and the School of Business at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

The Institute of Management Studies was transformed into a university. The institute was founded in 1974 and served as a tutorial school for candidates for professional qualifications in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, accounting from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and purchasing and supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply. Its goal is to establish a setting and infrastructure that will help its products develop the necessary skills and attitudes. They will be able to serve society productively thanks to their professional and academic qualifications.

The College’s mission is to establish itself as a respected management and research university that will foster academic and moral excellence and compete successfully on a worldwide scale.

In 1998, the National Accreditation Board granted the university accreditation. The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was the institution’s official partner as of May 2011.

What are the requirements for UCOMS?

UCOMS ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

In six subjects, applicants must receive a minimum grade of D (4).

(C6) on six WASSCE topics (3 core and 3 elective subjects respectively). In six subjects, applicants must receive a minimum grade of D (4).

SSSCE

A 24 minimum overall score. In six disciplines, applicants must receive at least a D(4).

GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels

The minimum grade requirement for applicants with “O” or “A” Levels is “Grade 6” in five (5) “O” level topics, including English, Math, and a Science/Arts subject. In addition, they must pass three subjects, with at least one of those passes being an “A” grade or above.

NOTE THAT: Candidates must earn at least a D(4) in six disciplines. In addition, they must pass three subjects, one of which must be an “A” grade or above.
