About the University of Ngaoundéré

A public institution called the University of Ngaoundéré is situated in Ngaoundéré, Adamawa Region, Cameroon. Its French name is Université de Ngaoundéré. On January 19th, 1993, a presidential decree was formed it.

The Ngaoundere University Centre was transformed into a legally recognized, state-owned university by the Presidential Decree of January 19, 1993, which established the institution.

The institution, which originally had two professional schools and four faculties, now has four professional schools and faculties, a student body of about 30,000, and it accepts students from all regions of Cameroon as well as from surrounding nations like Chad and the Central African Republic. The Board of Directors, the university’s highest administrative body, is responsible for ensuring that the university’s development plan, as established by the Council of Higher Education and Scientific and Technological Research and approved by the President of the Republic of Cameroon, is carried out. A rector, chosen by presidential decree, oversees the administrative and academic operations of the University of Ngaoundéré.

The university council, which is the appropriate body in the academic and scientific fields, is presided over by the rector. The central government, which consists of a secretary-general, three vice presidents, and four administrative units, supports him on an administrative level.
