About Accra Institute of Technology

The Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) is an autonomous research institution with a technological concentration that is situated in Accra, Ghana. Six schools and three institutes make up the university.

The university is based on technological institutions with a global reputation for excellence, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH), both of which are regularly listed in the top 10 global university rankings.

Almost 250 students are enrolled in AIT’s Ph.D. programs, making it a top research university in Ghana. The National Accreditation Board (Ghana) of the Ghanaian Ministry of Education has granted AIT accreditation so that it can provide campus-based and online university programs in a variety of subjects. Engineering, computer science, information technology, and business administration undergraduate degrees are all available on-campus.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

  • The prerequisites for admission to a degree program at the university are CREDITS in the THREE WASSCE/SSSCE Core Subjects (English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science) and CREDITS in the THREE WASSCE/SSSCE Elective Subjects or its equivalent relevant to the chosen Program with an aggregate of 24 or better (WASSCE: A1-C6/SSSCE A-D). NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR ADMISSION PURPOSES ARE D7, E8, & F9.

** It is important to note that the THREE CORE SUBJECTS are a requirement for all of our university’s academic programs.

GENERAL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (GBCE)

  • The applicants must have earned passing grades in THREE Elective Courses, including Business Mathematics, and THREE Compulsory Subjects, including the English Language.

ADVANCED LEVEL/MATURE APPLICANTS

  • Candidates must have at least FIVE credits at the GCE O’ Level, including English Language and Mathematics (or an approved equivalent), as well as passes in at least THREE courses at the Advanced Level/Three Credits in the case of mature candidates. The applicant must also meet any additional standards set forth by the relevant department or faculty.

ADVANCED BUSINESS CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (ABCE)

  • Candidates must have earned passing grades in THREE (3) Required Courses and THREE (3) Optional Topics Related to the Study Program.
