About Al-Hikmah University
AL-HIKMAH UNIVERSITY, ILORIN-NIGERIA was established in 2005 by the Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF), Nigeria. The University came into reality through the awarding of a license to act as a Conventional Private University by the Federal Government of Nigeria (License No. 010) on 7th January 2005. It began academic activities during the 2005/2006 academic session with 70 students scattered across the three (3) take-off Colleges: (Humanities, Management Sciences, and Natural Sciences).
Today, Al-Hikmah University has seven (7) Faculties (Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Natural, and Applied Sciences, Education, Law, Health Sciences, and Agriculture) and the Postgraduate School. It has 50 Undergraduate, 12 Diploma, and 43 Postgraduate Programmes. The University also has 12 Centres, viz: Centre for Part-time and Professional Studies, Centre for Diploma studies, Centre for JUPEB Studies, Centre for ICT and Distance Learning, Centre for Islamic Heritage, Centre for Community Development, Centre for Research, Industrial Linkage, and International Cooperation (CRIIC), Centre for Summer Studies, Centre for Entrepreneurial and Vocational Studies, Centre for Remedial and Extral-Mural Studies, Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance, and Centre for Peace and Security Studies. At this point, our students’ residents are above 7000, inclusive of Postgraduate students and the Institute of Education. All our educational programs are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Who founded Al-hikmah?
Answer: Alhaji (Chief) (Dr) AbdulRaheem Amoo Oladimeji, OFR, FNAEAP, was born on June 8, 1938, to Malam Yusuf Oladimeji and Madam Awawu Oladimeji, both of Ile-loke Compound, Baale Quarters in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. His father, was a successful farmer, hunter, herbalist, and trader. His mother, a child of the first Iyalode of Igbaja, was a reputable poultry farmer.
What are the requirements for Al-hikmah?
Answer: General Admission Prerequisites
Gaining admission into an Undergraduate Programme in HUI is essentially under 2 entrance methods which contain the UTME entry and the Direct Entry.
For UTME;
Prospects must have reached the age of 16.
Applicants must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result (s). This must contain English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects related to their course of study. For instance, a Candidate that wants to study law must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and Literature in English.
Applicants must achieve at least 180 in the JAMB UTME examination
Applicants must take the HUI post UTME screening examination and must perform very well in the examination.
Not more than ONE sitting result is taken for admission into the Al-Hikmah University, HUI
Prospects must select the correct subject combination for their courses.
Eventually, contenders must meet the specified cutoff marks for their courses to earn admission into the university.
Direct Entry
Prospects must have at least five (5) Credits in their O’level result. This must contain English Language and Mathematics. Nevertheless, two sitting result is not allowed.
Prospects must have also reached the age of 16.
Applicants are anticipated to get a JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB to apply.
Prospects should have any of the following credentials: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, and ICAN.
