About Assiut University
Egypt’s Assiut is home to Assiut University. As the first university in Upper Egypt, it was founded in October 1957 to provide graduates with the resources of scientific knowledge and training expertise on the various necessary skills. The university’s logo is composed of a coat of arms with the sun disc—Akhnaton’s motto and a representation of Ancient Egypt—in the middle. The sun disc casts light over the university’s name, which is written in conventional Kufi scripts and represents the Arab region. The letters that make up the university’s name rise in splendor toward the sun in the form of sunbeams that resemble outstretched hands filled with goodness.
