About the Baze University 

The university was recognized in 2011 and got its provisional license from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on the 7th of March of the same year. Academic doings began with staff and 17 students all in one building on the site of its 50,000 sqm campus. Construction of the Administrative Block, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Computing & Applied Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, and the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences soon followed.

In 2021, construction of the University Teaching Hospital began and is likely to be finished in the same year. Already, there exists a Library complex, a Staff Housing Complex, and the students’ Hostel containing 2 Blocks for males and females with dimensions of 500 students each. The University has had six consecutive Convocation Ceremonies and has shaped graduates in various disciplines.

Who founded BUA?

Answer: Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed (born 7 July 1969) is a Nigerian economist and politician who aided as Senator for Kaduna North from 2011 to 2012 and associate of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. An associate of the Labour Party, he is the party’s vice presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election running alongside Peter Obi.

From the protruding Baba-Ahmed family of Zaria, Baba-Ahmed graduated from the University of Maiduguri. After schooling, he functioned in business and banking for numerous years before entering politics. Baba-Ahmed was voted as a House of Representatives member for Zaria in 2003; while in the position, he became known for speaking out against corruption and the Third Term Agenda. After leaving office in 2007, Baba-Ahmed continued advocating for good governance while recurring to his Baze business grouping and establishing Baze University. By 2011, he moved back to politics and successfully ran for Senator for Kaduna North; though the electoral tribunal upturned his victory and he left office in 2012. After a failed presidential campaign in the 2019 PDP primary, Baba-Ahmed linked the Labour Party in 2022 to become Peter Obi’s running mate.

How much are Baze University school fees?

Answer: The basic N2, 475,000 tuition fee is appropriate for students in the faculties of Management, Social Sciences, Computing, and applied sciences. Students of Faculties of Law, Engineering, and Medical Sciences would pay N2, 750,000. The fee for hostel accommodation for a semester is secure at N325, 187.50 from January 2021.
