It was established in 2004 and started admitting students from the 2005/2006 academic session. It is situated in the Ogun State of Nigeria.

About the Bells University of Technology 

Bells University of Technology, Ota, is Nigeria’s the First Private University of Technology. It was settled functioning license on 9th June 2005 and began operation on 1st July 2005.

The idea of the Bells University of Technology was considered following the wish of the Bells Educational Foundation to start a sole university where the good foundation given to products of its Secondary School and other Secondary Schools could be built upon.

To guarantee uniqueness, the Foundation decided to establish a university that would provide courses that would support significant and sustainable technologies that were transferable, ICT-driven, and at the cutting edge of Science and Technology.

Who founded BUT?

Answer: Chief Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Ogunboye Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR born 5 March 1937 is a Nigerian political and military leader who aided as Nigeria’s head of state from 1976 to 1979 and later as its president from 1999 to 2007. Ideologically a Nigerian nationalist, he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1999 to 2015, and since 2018 has been an associate of the African Democratic Congress party (ADC).

Obasanjo existed a polygamous lifestyle. Obasanjo married his first wife, Oluremi Akinlawon, in London in 1963; she gave birth to his first child, Iyabo, in 1967. Iyabo had a close relationship with her father. Oluremi was unhappy that Obasanjo preserved relationships with other women and unproven that he beat her. Some of his children were offended that he gave them no special honors and treated their mothers unwell.
