Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST)

The goal of the research institution Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) is to foster an intellectual environment and set the bar for education in Egypt and other African nations. It was first formed as a project under a bilateral agreement between the governments of Egypt and Japan in May 2009, and by the end of 2010, it was prepared to welcome its first group of students and turn the dream into a reality. The two governments have a solid working connection and divide up the cooperation well to produce fruitful outcomes.

The Japanese Supporting University Consortium (JSUC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) both send academic experts to EJUST to help with teaching, conduct joint research projects, and co-supervise graduate students in addition to administrative and academic experts to help with the technical and managerial systems of the university.

Additionally, they offer cutting-edge tools, equipment, and technology for research. The institution is wholly funded and operated by the Egyptian government, and both the academic and administrative staff are led by Egyptian nationals. All decisions that govern the university are decided through its Board of Trustees (BOT) which is composed of 15 important personalities from Egypt and Japan. They represent government stakeholders as well as individuals from both countries’ business and academic communities.
