About Egyptian Russian University
In Egypt’s Cairo Governorate, Badr City is home to the Egyptian Russian University (ERU). It was started in 2006.
During the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Cairo, a deal was achieved on the formation of ERU. Egypt paid a visit to Russia’s Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko from May 23 to 25, 2005, following the commitments made at the Cairo conference in April. A protocol for collaboration between the Ministries of Education and Science of Russia and Egypt was signed on August 15, 2006, in Moscow.
The Egyptian-Russian University (ERU) project, whose development is agreed upon in the Joint Declaration of the Prime Ministers of Russia and Egypt on the outcomes of Putin’s visit to Cairo, is receiving particular attention within the context of cooperation in this area.
The Egyptian President established the ERU by decree on July 15, 2006, and he also conducted the first group of students that same year.
