About Gwanda State University
The University of Gwanda has two campuses. Along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge Highway in Gwanda town, on 87 acres of land, is where you’ll find the main campus. The other campus, where instruction is now being provided, is situated at Epoch Mine in Filabusi.
As a College of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), the university first opened its doors in 2015. Chapter 25:30 of the 2016 Parliamentary Act established it. According to government policy, there should be a public university in every province, the University was founded. Given its position in Matabeleland South, the University’s mandate is “specialization in animal and veterinary sciences, irrigation engineering and management, mining engineering, environmental engineering, and ecosystems restoration”. This is following the natural endowments of its geographic location.
