About Kafr El Sheikh University

Egyptian university Kafr El Sheikh University was founded in 2006 and is situated in Kafr El Sheikh, in the heart of the Nile Delta. Engineering, Medical, Physiotherapy and Nursing, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Science, Education, Agriculture, Arts, Special Education, Commerce, and Physical Education are just a few of the faculties (or colleges) that make up the university.

Kafrelsheikh University was created on April 19, 2006, by Presidential Order No (129). It is one of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s contemporary public universities. It is important to note that the creation of the university was a response to the demands of Egypt’s sustainable development process about the best possible use of its human, material, and energy resources on the one hand, and the expanding requirement to increase the absorption capacity of university education from graduates of high and technical secondary schools on the other.

The Higher Agricultural Institute, a department of the Ministry of Higher Education, was founded in the Kafrelsheikh governorate in 1957, and it served as the foundation for the faculties. The institute was moved to the Alexandria University-affiliated Faculty of Agriculture in 1969. Following its founding in 1973, Tanta University annexed the faculty.

The College of Education was founded in 1977. Tanta University opened a branch there in Kafrelsheikh in 1983, and the faculty of veterinary medicine was founded there in 1985. In 1988, the Faculty of Special Education was founded. The Faculty of Specialized Education was initially connected to the Ministry of Higher Education before being connected to Tanta University by Ministerial Decree No. 1187. The Colleges of Engineering and Commerce created a section in 1920. A division of the Faculty of Physical Education was founded in 1997. The branches of the faculties were changed into faculties after the republican decision to convert the Kafrelsheikh branch into a university was made in 2006.
