About McPherson University

Private Christian institution McPherson University (McU) is located in Abeokuta, Seriki-Sotayo, Ogun State, Nigeria. In Nigeria, it was established in 2012 by the Foursquare Gospel Church.

On the university’s eastern side are the colleges. There are three academic buildings, a health center, a garden, a library, and an administrative building at the institution. The chapel and dining room are located in the multipurpose room. At the McPherson Sports Center, outdoor field sports are played. A basketball court, volleyball court, and lawn tennis court were added to the sports complex during the summer of 2012.

As a recognized institution, McU offers courses leading to doctoral and master’s degrees as well as bachelor’s degrees in the arts and sciences from three colleges. Joint Universities Preliminary Exams Board affiliates McU with their organization (JUPEB). The library, which serves the entire university community, is located next to the administration building. Academic support services, career services, and college archives are all housed at the library. It provides computers for student use, along with word processing and internet access applications.

In Seriki-Sotayo, close to Foursquare City in Ajebo, the University is situated on 122.3 hectares of ground. Its northern boundary is formed by the Ogunmakin-Ajebo-Abeokuta road, while its eastern boundary is formed by farmland and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The site of McPherson UNIVERSITY lies approximately within latitude 7º07N and 7º08N and longitude of 3º41N an elevation of between 82m to 109m.

Admission into an undergraduate program at MCU can be obtained primarily through one of two entry methods, UTME or Direct Entry.

MCU admission requirements through UTME 

Candidates for the UTME in 2023 must fulfill the following criteria to be admitted to Mcpherson University:

  • Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Applicants must receive a minimum of 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” in their O’level exam (s). This needs to cover three additional subjects pertinent to their course of study in addition to English and math. For example, a candidate who wishes to pursue a career in law must earn a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and English Literature.
  • In the JAMB UTME exam, candidates must receive a score of at least 160.
  • Applicants are required to take the UNILAG post-UTME screening test and must do well on it (Depending on the course of study)
  • For admission to Mcpherson University, only ONE sitting of results is acceptable (MCU)
  • For their courses, candidates must select the appropriate subject mix.
  • Ultimately, to be admitted to the institution, applicants must achieve the required cutoff scores for their respective courses.

MCU admission requirements through Direct Entry 

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions to be admitted directly into Mcpherson University (MCU):

  • The minimum number of credits a candidate must have in their O-level score is five (5). Mathematics and English are both required in this. Two sitting results are not permitted, nevertheless.
  • Applicants must also be at least 16 years old.
  • To apply, candidates must obtain a JAMB Straight entrance form from JAMB.
  • Any of the following certificates should be held by candidates: the OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, and ICAN.
