About Adventist University of West Africa

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Liberia owns and runs the private, coeducational Adventist University of West Africa. The institution is situated in Schieffelin, a village 35 kilometers east of Liberia’s capital city of Monrovia.

The second-largest Christian school system in the world, the Seventh-day Adventist education system, includes it.

On the grounds of Adventist High School, the nursing program of the Adventists University of West Africa began classes in 2011. The nursing school relocated to its permanent premises in 2012 after the official groundbreaking for the site and the first student elections. Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor delivered the commencement address to the university’s fourth graduating class in 2018. The Liberia Board of Nursing and Midwifery accredited the nursing program in 2019.
