About Jobkey University

Jaamacadda Jobkey, often known as Jobkey University (JU), was established in 2011 and has its primary campus in Mogadishu, the nation’s capital. It is a chartered university that has received approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and Culture and the Federal Government of Somalia. Success Starts Here is its motto.

Its coeducational higher education institution, which is nominally linked with the Islamic religion, has an enrolment range of 1,000–1,999 students. It is a somewhat selective Somali higher education institution with a 60–70% admission rate.

A group of thinkers and other members of the diaspora proposed the idea of starting the university. At the end of 2011, the university finally opened its doors after more than three years of planning. In Mogadishu, Banaadir, the university has two campuses: one is in Jowhar and the other is in Beledweyne.

An inquiry team assembled by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education in 2017 suggested additional research into the irregular graduation of over 300 students by Stafford University Uganda in collaboration with Jobkey University.
