Kogi State University

Prince Abubakar Audu University, (Previously Kogi State University) situated at Anyigba, is the state-owned university of Kogi, Nigeria.

It was recognized in 1999 by Prince Abubakar Audu, the ex-governor of the state. At the time of its founding, it was known as Kogi State University, It was later titled Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in 2002 after the then active governor of Kogi State, who signaled its launch, and later retitled Kogi State University (KSU) in 2003 by the ex-governor Ibrahim Idris and later retitled as Prince Abubakar Audu University in 2020 by Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in respect of late Abubakar Audu.

About Kogi State University

Kogi State University originated academic activities in April 2000 with six faculties: Faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Law, Management Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The university further added the formation of the Faculty of Medicine with broad office and laboratory developments. The Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies originated to run diploma and pre-degree programs. Students of the pre-degree program could gain admission into the degree program if they are successful in the in-house exams and need not write the Post-UTME exams.

Achieving admission into an Undergraduate Program at KSU is essentially under 2 entrance methods which contain the UTME entry and the Direct Entry.

KSU admission requirements via UTME 

Applicants must have reached the age of 16.

Applicants must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result (s). This must contain English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects connected to their course of study. For instance, a Candidate that wants to study law must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and Literature in English.

Applicants must score at least 160 in the JAMB UTME examination.

Applicants must take the KSU post UTME screening examination and must achieve very well in the examination (Depending on the course of study).

Not more than ONE sitting result is acknowledged for admission into the Kogi State University (KSU).
