The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, initially the Federal University of Agriculture, is a federal university in Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria was created as a dedicated University by the Federal Government of Nigeria Decree No 48 of November 1992.

About Michael Okpara University of Agriculture

It initiated formal happenings in May 1993 with the selection of the first Council and Vice-Chancellor Professor Placid C. Njoku on 27 May 1993, while other key administrators of the University were selected later.

The first set of students was admitted into the institution during the 1993/94 academic year with a student populace of 82.

The nickname “Umudykes” or “U’dykers” is used for students, alumni, and sports teams of the university.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe has coded that the university will start appearing in profitable farming to support its internally produced incomes and better prepare the students for a complex and random future.

Answer:  Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar 3rd. He was born December 17, 1977, in Gombe town and joined Gombe Children Primary School and Government Science Secondary School. He embraces a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Maiduguri. Shehu-Abubakar was a Supervisory Councillor in the Gombe Local Government Council amid 2006 and 2007. He then functioned as Personal Assistant to the Director of Administration, Ministry of Defence, Abuja, from 2007 to 2009. He also detained posts of Chairman of Kliptown Lagoon Nigeria Ltd and Executive Director of Horizon Interlinks Global Resources. The new emir is not yet married.

Answer: GRADUATION NECESSITY FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

A scholar must have taken and passed a least one hundred and twenty (120) credit unit courses for a four–year, one hundred and fifty (150) credit unit courses for a five–year, and one hundred and eighty (180) credit unit courses for a six-year program. In each case, the scholar must achieve the least possible accumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 1.00 (2.00 obligatory for a Doctor in Veterinary medicine). Most programs in the University nevertheless have a least possible credit load necessity of about 144-168; 180-210 and 216-252 for four, five and six-year course periods correspondingly.

DIRECT ENTRY:

Admission is grounded on a grouping of ‘O’ Level results with the following qualifications:

I. OND/ND (Distinction)

ii. HND (Credit)

iii. NCE (Double Major) at Credit Level

iv. OND/ND (Credit)

v. NCE (Double Major/Merit Level)

Applicants with credentials as in (i), (ii) and (iii) as listed above may be acknowledged into the 200 level while those as in (iv) or (v) may be acknowledged into the 100 level.  Holders of the ND with a minimum of upper credit passes in the count to O level credit passes are usually admitted into the 200 level of the programme while holders of HND certificates may be acknowledged into the 300 level except for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme.

The degree period shown for most programmes is for UME applicants. Applicants with ND and HND or their equals spend fewer years in their programmes (as stated above), e.g. four or three years, correspondingly, in the B. Agric. associated to five years for UME applicants.
