Lagos State University

Lagos State University, also comprehended as LASU, is situated in Ojo, a town in Lagos State, Nigeria. The institute was founded in 1983 by the enabling law of Lagos State, for the rise of learning and structure of academic excellence; its motto being For Truth and Service.

About Lagos State University

The institute was created as a multi-campus and non-residential University. It runs a multi-campus system with four fully acknowledged campuses having its central campus at Ojo (along the Badagry Expressway) and other campuses at Epe (where the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Agriculture are encountered), Ikeja (where the College of Medicine is situated in at Lasuth).

A 300-seat theatre hall is under construction at the school’s central campus in Ojo by the Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria (AWAN). The project area is opposite the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate House. It is flanked by a new library building, which is still under the building, and the current student affairs building. When completed, the building will serve as a lecture hall for students with offices and a secretariat.

The university started with three faculties: Commerce and Business Administration, Law, and Medicine. The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration has modified to the Faculty of Business and Social Studies at its first meeting of the board. The faculties of Arts, Education, Engineering, and Science were counted later.

Who founded LASU?

Answer: In April 1981, an ad-hoc committee guided by the Late Dr. Femi Agbalajobi, who was then a member of the Governing Council of the Lagos State College of Science and Technology, was set up to look into the modalities for restoring LASCOTECH into a University. Later, in 1982, another 12-man specialized committee guided by Dr. Abisogun Leigh recommended the installation of a multi-campus and non-residential university. LASU admission conditions for Direct Entry (DE) prospects:

For a start, you need to have at least 5 credit passes in your O’level result (WAEC NECO, or NABTEB) plus English and Mathematics not more than two (2) sittings before you can study at LASU.

Direct entry applicants are instructed to purchase the LASU Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) And LASU Portal.

You must have selected the correct JAMB subject combination for your course.

LASU must be your first choice of Institution.

You must partake in the LASU online post UTME screening practice.

You must have reached the age of 16 by October this year.

LASU accepts (First Class Degree, Second Class, and Upper credit) but in corresponding fields.

LASU also accepts a minimum of Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), and other Progressive Level Certificates trusting on the course.

In some cases, LASU takes JUPEB and IJMB A’level results but you must have a good result before involving.
