About Madda Walabu University
In 2006, Madda Walabu University, one of Ethiopia’s public universities, was founded. Around 430 kilometers (270 miles) from the capital, Addis Ababa, the university is situated in the Bale Zone’s town of Robe. There are 28 graduate and 46 undergraduate programs offered by the university.
One of the higher education institutes is Madda Walabu University (MWU). The name Madda Walabu University was given to the institution in honor of the location, which is 227 kilometers to the southwest of the zonal town of Robe. As repeatedly mentioned by elders and experts, the area has a direct historical connection to the Oromo people, who are the originators of the “Gada” system culture. Elders and experts have frequently pointed to this location. The Oromo people have a strong attachment to this location. To help people remember this special place for a long time, Madda Walabu Stadium, the Madda Walabu Culture Band, Madda Walabu University, and other minor business centers have all adopted the name Madda Walabu.
In actuality, Madda Walabu University is one of the nation’s most recent (1999 E.C.) public higher education institutions. The university, despite being new, can be characterized as a quickly evolving institution in terms of student admittance, program expansion, and campus growth. The geography of the region and its status as the continent’s breadbasket in terms of production make the area around the institution a desirable place to live. The university is also surrounded by a variety of tourist destinations, which adds to its appeal as a desirable place to visit.
