About Sebha University

A public university with campuses in Sabha, Awbari, Murzuq, Brak, and Ghat, Sabha University is located in the southern Libyan city of Sabha.

The Faculty of Education was established in 1976 as a division of the University of Tripoli and served as the foundation of Sebha University. In 1983, Sebha University was established as a stand-alone institution, and it first housed both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Sciences. Then Sebha University added the faculties of medicine, agriculture, engineering, technology, economics, and accounting. Consequently, there are now 19 university faculties spread over several Southern regions. There were (25726) students enrolled at Sebha University as of 2016.
