About Taita Taveta University

Taita Taveta University first opened its doors in 2007 as the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Taita Taveta Campus. In 2011, it was raised to a Constituent, and on October 7, 2016, it received a charter to become a full-fledged university.

The number of students enrolled in the university’s Master’, Undergraduate, Diploma, and Certificate programs has increased to 2000 as a result of its highly desirable courses. Due to its established connections with prestigious universities around the world, the university regularly hosts foreign academics.

The University’s curricula are governed by its mission and vision, and it takes pride in being a center for mining and mineral processing engineers. The School of Mines and Engineering, the School of Business Economics and Social Sciences, the School of Science and Informatics, and the School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences are the four schools that TTU now possesses.

Certificate Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Diploma Courses

  1. The general postgraduate regulations must be followed for postgraduate program admission and administration.
  2. For consideration for admission to the University’s postgraduate diploma program, the following criteria must be met:
  • Bachelor’s degree holders from Taita Taveta University and other colleges and universities that the TTU Senate has acknowledged.

Entry Requirements for Masters Courses

  • An approved bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a scale of 4.00, or a degree with First Class or Upper Second Class Honors, is required for entry.
  • If the degree or diploma is pertinent to the field of study, applicants with a GPA of 2.5 or Lower Second Class Honours and a Higher Diploma may be given consideration.
